FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS are a valuable tax benefit, available to be used by many Americans. Through employee payroll deductions, money can be placed into these accounts pre-tax, to reimburse your out-of-pocket medical costs and dependent care costs. This provides a "discount" on these costs that equals your tax bracket! A valuable benefit - but time consuming and difficult to manage unless you use MyMedClaims! MyMedClaims not only makes it simple to control these reimbursements, but also to plan for each new year's Flexible Spending Account. Your actual out-of-pocket medical and dependent care costs can be conveniently tracked for your use to estimate the proper payroll deductions for the following year's account.

PROGRAM
The MyMedClaims service was developed for the Busy but Thorough person who wants to minimize the time and frustration spent on tracking Family Medical Claims. There are endless variations in medical insurance plans as far as what procedures are covered, what the deductibles are, and what percentage of the bill the plan will pay. The intent is that this service remain as generic as possible, not to calculate or determine benefits or deductibles provided by any specific plan, but to organize and summarize data which is input by you. You simply input each medical event, the medical provider's bill, the amounts paid by your plan and the deductibles applied, etc., which is communicated to you on your medical insurance plan's Explanation of Benefits document.
Virtually all health plans contain just a few common features (with varying
numerics): All these items are taken care of by your data collection from your plan's Explanation of Benefits document. YOUR JOURNAL INPUT Journal Set-Up Through the use of a subscriber-controlled password, your data file will be kept confidential. Minimal initial input will establish your Family Medical Tracking Journal for each calendar year. Optional input includes your medical insurance plan's individual and family deductible amounts, any Flexible Spending Account dollar amount election for that year, the names of all family members, and any notes that you may want included in your Family Summary report. Each year's journal will create separate reports for each individual family member, in addition to the Family Summary report. Event Entry Each individual family member will have one line of data for each event in the three topics- medical, drugs, and dental. These topics will be totaled by individual, and included on the Family Summary report. Also, on a family basis, any dependent care events will each have a line of data on the Dependent Care report. Dependent care will also be totaled and included on the Family Summary report. You can enter events "in process" with partial input, to be completed later. As Explanation of Benefits documents. are received, or Flexible Spending Account reimbursements are received, the events may be marked as "complete".
